Description

Churchfield is a large house that was formerly a rectory, primarily built in 1841, but it includes parts of an earlier structure. The building features well-coursed rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. The main facade is two storeys tall and has a two-storey outshut with three bays. The windows on both floors are set within long full-height recesses. To the right of the outshut, there is a lean-to porch with a coped gable and a chamfered arched opening that has an incised key. On the left side, a flat-roofed extension contains an old three-light ovolo moulded mullion, and there is a stone inside that is dated 1617. The building is included for its group value.
