Description

This is a small terrace of four houses located on Orchard Close in Egleton, built in the early 19th century, although it incorporates an earlier core, particularly at number 12. The houses are constructed of brick, with some blue headers. They are two storeys high and each has a two-unit plan, featuring a central doorway. The windows are wooden, with three lights and mullions. All ground-floor openings have cambered heads. The right-hand end gable is built of rubble and features a carved head, appearing to predate the rest of the terrace. The brickwork of the stack at number 12 also appears older than the rest of the building. This suggests an earlier origin for at least part of the structure.
