Description
The Loophole is a house built in the late 18th century, with a 19th-century extension to the east, positioned at a slight angle to the main block. It is constructed of stone, featuring a brick gable end on the east side and a Welsh slate roof. There is a brick stack at the east end of the original house, which was doubled in the 19th century. The building has two storeys and the original house has a three-window range, being double-fronted. It includes a plinth with a band and a raised band between the storeys. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, and the central window on the first floor has a segmental head. The central doorway is round-headed, featuring impost blocks and is set within a 19th-century gabled open wooden porch. The door is six-flush-panelled with a fanlight above. The 19th-century addition has a two-storeyed canted bay window with sash windows and a door to the right, which also has a rectangular fanlight above. A bracketed cornice runs the entire length of the house.
