Description

This is a house, originally dated 1779, marked with the initials ‘T over H M’ on number 17. An early 19th-century wing projects onto the street and the building is now divided into two dwellings. The original section is constructed of squared stone with a Collyweston stone slate roof, coped gables, and stone ridge and end stacks, with the stack to the ridge and left-hand end being doubled in brick. It is a single storey tall. Number 17, on the left, has a 20th-century central door flanked by two 20th-century two-light casement windows, all beneath timber lintels. Number 19, to the right, has a 20th-century solid wooden door beneath a stone lintel with a projecting keystone. A wing, belonging to number 19, projects onto the street and is built of coursed rubble, including some ironstone, with an ashlar facing and a hipped Welsh slate roof with deep eaves. This wing is two storeys tall. The right-hand side flank displays a similar 20th-century door between sash windows with glazing bars and sills, with two matching original windows above. The street-facing end features a two-storey canted bay window with sash windows and glazing bars.
