Description
Rutland House is a house that originated in the 17th century, featuring a fine 18th-century ashlar front. The gable end is made of squared stone, while the rear elevation is constructed from rubble. It has a Collyweston stone slate roof with coped gables and stone end stacks. The house is two storeys high with attics and has a double fronted design with three window ranges. The central door is framed by a plain architrave with a keystone and has a later hood above it. The windows are two-light casements set in chamfered openings, divided by stone mullions, and feature flush keystones above. There are also two small gabled dormers with two-light casement windows. To the left of the door, there is a two-light ovolo-moulded stone mullioned basement window, with a similar window located on the first floor at the rear.
