Description

The British Legion Hall is an 18th-century meeting hall, possibly originating as a small barn. A stack and extension were added in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins, and has a plain tile roof with an ashlar ridge stack on the left side. Stone coped gables are present. It is a one-and-a-half-story building with a central doorway, having a stone lintel with a dentilled hood mould. A one-story extension with a hipped roof is on the left end, featuring a three-light stone mullion window. The gable of this extension incorporates a corbel carved with foliage, which may be of medieval origin. A two-light window is set within the gable on the right end. The building is included on the list for group value.
