Description
The gateway, railings, and attached fences at the east entrance to Wollaton Park were constructed around 1926. They are made of ashlar and wrought iron, with wooden fences. The railings and fences create a semicircle, with the main gateway positioned at the center. There are two square ashlar gate piers topped with square cornice caps. The pair of wrought-iron gates features crests. On either side of the gateway, there are curved railings supported by a chamfered ashlar plinth and square ashlar end piers. At both ends, there are curved wooden fences that include single gateways and small square piers. This structure is part of the redevelopment of Wollaton Park undertaken by Nottingham City Council around 1920.
