Description

The gateway to Wollaton Park, located at the entrance to Lime Tree Avenue, features a pair of crested wrought-iron gates dating from 1790, designed by William Stretton of Nottingham. Flanking the gates are a pair of square cast-iron gate piers, which were added around 1870. These piers have panelled sides, moulded bases and caps, and are topped with spire finials.
