Description

West Lodge and the attached screen wall at the entrance to West Drive were built around 1928 by Morley Horder for Nottingham University College. The structure is made of ashlar stone and features lead roofs, showcasing a Classical Revival style. It has a plinth, pediments, and a coped parapet. The lodge is two stories high and consists of a single bay with a cruciform plan. Each side has a projecting bay with a pediment, which contains a large glazing bar sash window in a moulded surround, complete with a frieze and cornice. Above this, there is a smaller sash window in a plain surround. A cartouche is located in the pediment at the front. On the drive side, there is a coped screen wall that includes a plinth and a square end pier topped with an urn.
