Description
Forest Lodge is a lodge to Nottingham racecourse, now functioning as a house. It was built in 1857 by Henry Moses Wood, the City Surveyor, and was restored around 1987. The building is made of stucco with slate roofs and lead-coped parapets, showcasing a Greek Revival style. It features three double ridge stacks, a plinth and entablature on all sides, and renewed glazing bar sash windows set in moulded surrounds. The structure is single storey with three bays and has a cruciform plan, highlighted by a tetrastyle Doric portico and pediment on each side. Under the north portico, there is a panelled door with sidelights, and beyond it, single windows. At the rear, there is a blocked door with an Egyptian architrave.
