Description

The parapet wall to the south and west of the Castle Museum in Nottingham was built between 1674 and 1679, likely designed by Samuel Marsh for the first Duke of Newcastle. Constructed from ashlar, the wall features a moulded plinth and intermediate pedestals, although the coping has been removed. It follows the cliff edge of the castle rock, measuring approximately 1 meter in height and 140 meters in length. This wall is part of the original architectural scheme of the Ducal palace.
