Description

John Perkins House and the Vicarage at the Church of All Saints is a vicarage built between 1863 and 1864 by Hine & Evans of Nottingham for William Windley. It is constructed from rockfaced Bulwell sandstone with ashlar dressings and features a plain tile roof with coped gables and kneelers. The building is designed in the Gothic Revival style and has ridge and side wall stacks with multiple square flues.

The exterior includes a chamfered plinth and consists of two storeys plus attics, arranged in a double range plan with three by two bays. Most windows are plain sashes with cusped pointed arched lights. The garden front features a projecting gabled porch on the right, which is two storeys high and has a pointed arched doorway with sidelights and shafts, all under a polychrome relieving arch. To the left, there is an angled corner window, and above it, a two-light window. To the right, there is a similar projecting bay with a window on each floor, while to the left, there is a canted bay window with two lights and a through-eaves dormer above it, also with a two-light window. The left corner has an angled bay window with tracery. The left return has two gables, with the left one projecting and featuring a window on each floor. The right return, facing All Saints Street, has a canted bay window on the left with a door to its right, followed by a single window and a through-eaves dormer. Further to the right, there is a gable with a window on each floor. The rear of the building has flat-headed windows, some of which are mullioned.

Inside, the vicarage retains original cornices and a strapwork cross on one ceiling.
