Description

The gate piers and plinths form an entrance to Waterloo Promenade. They date from the late 19th century and are constructed of ashlar. The pair of square gate piers has chamfered corners and are topped with enriched pyramidal caps, which originally supported cast-iron lamps but are now incomplete. Short plinths flank each gate pier, featuring chamfered copings. The original iron railings and gates have been removed. These gate piers are part of a group of similar designs erected by Nottingham Corporation to mark entrances to the Forest and Waterloo Promenade.
