Description
The Fellows, Morton and Clayton Public House is a former coal carrying company office, built in 1895 and converted into a public house between 1980 and 1981. The building is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features slate roofs with two ridge stacks. It has a plinth and a cornice at the ground floor. The windows are original plain sashes. The structure is two storeys high and consists of a single bay in a T-plan layout.
The street-facing gable showcases rusticated corner pilasters and a coped gable with kneelers and a finial. The ground floor includes a two-light window with shaped lintels. To the right, there is an ashlar doorcase with pilasters and an entablature, featuring an original half-glazed panelled door with a fanlight and sidelights. Above this, a three-light window has pointed arched heads, hood moulds, and keystones. There is also a datestone set in a pointed arched recess above. The interior was refitted in the late 20th century. The building is included for its group value.
