Description

The Old Boundary Wall immediately south of the Guildhall is possibly from the 16th century. It is associated with Wigston's Hospital, which was built in 1518 and demolished in 1875, and it runs at right angles to this wall. The wall is made of stone rubble and stands approximately eight feet high. It features a mix of random Mountsorrel granite, sandstone, and fieldstone, topped with a course of Swithland slates and capped by a granite nibble top course.
