Description

The former toll house, dating from the mid-19th century, is constructed of buff brick and stands two storeys tall. It features a three-light stone mullioned window with cusp-headed lights and diamond-paned iron casements. The ground floor has a modern casement window and a doorway set within a stone surround, leading to a batten door. The building has a stone-coped gable with kneelers, plain eaves, and lateral clustered brick stacks, as well as fish-scale tiles. There is a single-storey wing on the right-hand side. The toll house was unoccupied at the time of inspection in 1974.
