Description
The Gatehouse and Lodges of Nottingham Road Cemetery, built around 1850, are designed in an Early English style. The central gatehouse features a slightly projecting gabled wing on one side and a similar gable on the other, all connected by a screen wall. Constructed from stone, the gatehouse has a tower above the archway, angle buttresses, and a bartizan on the right side. It also includes corbelled eaves, a clock, and a slate pyramidal roof, along with wrought iron gates. Each wing of the gatehouse has two-light mullioned windows with cusped arched heads and hood moulds. The lodges are single-storey with a cruciform plan, featuring gabled ends, each with a three-light mullioned window that has a pointed arched traceried head and a hood mould, as well as angle buttresses and tiled roofs.
