Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres east of Old Hall, dates back to the 17th century and has been altered over time. It is constructed from magnesian limestone rubble with quoins and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a rectangular four-bay layout. In the second bay, there is a low segmental-arched former waggon doorway, which has been blocked to the left, alongside an inserted waggon entrance with a timber lintel. Above this doorway, there are remains of a former window, as well as three other windows at the same level, arranged irregularly. The rear wall also shows similar remains of former openings. Inside, the barn contains four roof trusses with raked queen-posts and intermediate collar-trusses, along with two pairs of windbraced purlins. There is a large addition built as a crosswing at the left end, which is of less architectural interest.
