Description
This summer house, located approximately 5 metres south-west of Netherton Hall, was probably built around 1775, coinciding with the date of Netherton Hall. It features a deeply-coursed ashlar front and dressed stone with quoins at the rear, topped by a stone slate roof. The building is single storey and has a symmetrical front with three bays. The central bay protrudes slightly and is topped with a pediment. There is a central round-headed doorway flanked by small lights, with the right light altered to create a doorway with an adjoining slender light. The design includes a raised sill band and a flush impost band, as well as a moulded eaves cornice beneath the hipped roof. At the rear, there is a part-blocked doorway with an ovolo-moulded surround, which has likely been re-set, and a later door on the left return. The interior is lined with brick.
