Description
The Harrison Monument, located approximately 10 metres west-south-west of the porch of the Church of St. Mary, is a monumental slab from the mid-18th century. It commemorates Mary, the daughter of Richard Harrison, who died in 1752. The monument is made of sandstone and features a decorative head with an incised semicircular arch that springs from imposts on scrolled brackets, complete with a triple keystone. The inscription is elegantly lettered, and there is an addition for Martha, another daughter who died in 1782, along with a four-line verse below this. The right-hand side of the item is slightly damaged.
