Description
No. 6 Beast Fair is a house that has been converted into a shop on the ground floor. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and has undergone some alterations. The building is constructed of red-brown brick in Flemish bond and features a Welsh slate roof. It stands three storeys high and has two bays.
The ground floor showcases a late 19th-century shop front, which includes a part-glazed door with an overlight to the left and a canted plate-glass window. Above the window, there is a retractable sunblind positioned at the sill level of the first-floor windows, which are modern casements from the 20th century.
On the second floor, the windows are smaller, featuring six-pane sash designs with exposed sash boxes and projecting ashlar sills. All windows are topped with ashlar voussoired wedge lintels that have dropped fluted keystones. To the left side of the building, there is a shaped kneeler and ashlar coping, along with a rebuilt brick stack at the left end.
