Description
Barleywood House is a building from the second half of the 17th century that has undergone some alterations. It is two stories high with an irregular front featuring five windows, which is currently covered in pebbledash. The windows are modern leaded casements, and there is a modern door set beneath a pointed arch. A later projecting wing is located on the right side of the building. The roof is fairly steeply pitched and is covered with stone flags, featuring chimneys at the center and ends.
At the rear, an additional range was added in the 18th century, although the north bay still shows a four-light, mullioned 17th-century window. Inside, there is an original decorative plaster ceiling that displays a check pattern with slightly raised borders, medallions, and leaves, with a plant depicted in each square. The center bay also features exposed beams.
