Description

Highbury House is an early 19th-century house located on the south side of High Street, Boston Spa. The house is constructed of coursed, squared magnesian limestone with a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high, with three bays, and includes a lower wing to the rear right and a brick addition to the rear left. Stone steps with contemporary iron handrails lead to a near-central six-panel door, which is set within a corniced wooden doorcase, and has a plain overlight. Blocked, flat-arched basement windows are also present. The ground floor has four-pane sashes with projecting stone sills, each beneath a flat arch. The first floor features a sash with glazing bars centrally placed, flanked by sixteen-pane sashes. These are also fitted with projecting stone sills and have flush wooden architraves. Brick end stacks are a notable feature.
