Description
This barn, located on the north side of the farmyard adjacent to the west side of Headley Hall, likely dates from the 17th century and has been altered over time. It is constructed from random rubble of magnesian limestone with quoins and features a pantile roof. The barn has a long rectangular shape.
On the north side, there is a modern sliding door that is offset to the right of the center. To the right of this door, the wall has triangular breathers at two levels, and at the left end, there is a similar sliding door with a smaller doorway to its left. The roof is steeply pitched with swept eaves.
The south side, which faces the yard, matches the north side but has an altered wagon entrance towards the east end. The west gable wall is mostly covered by an addition that is not included in this listing, but it features a lancet-shaped owl hole at the apex. Inside, there are chamfered tie beams, although the trusses have been replaced.
