Description
Gledhow Mount Mansion is a country house, now used as offices, dating from the early 19th century and converted in the 20th century. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features a slate hipped roof. It has two storeys and three bays, with a window arrangement of two, one, and two. The central bay slightly projects forward. The exterior includes wide pilastered quoins and central panelled double doors with an overlight, sheltered by a Tuscan porch that has an entablature and cornice. The first-floor central sash window, which has glazing bars, features margin lights and an architrave with an entablature and cornice. The flanking windows are also sashes (restored), and there are recessed panels below the ground-floor windows. A deep band runs along the first floor, and there is a sill band for the upper-floor windows. The eaves have a cornice, and there is a central raised panel along with three corniced stacks. The left return of the building has three windows similar to the front, while the three-window rear wing on the left has plain sills and lintels, gutter brackets, and tall corniced stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
