Description
The sundial in the Rock Garden at Harewood Park dates from the mid to late 18th century. It is made of carved freestone and sits on an ashlar base. The base is square, and it supports an octagonal tapering shaft that is likely mounted on an inverted Roman Ionic capital, which is finely carved with egg-and-dart ornament.
