Description

Wellholme Cottage is a small house, likely dating to the 19th century with 20th-century features, though believed by some to have origins in the 16th century as a cruck-built structure. The exterior is of rubble construction with a stone slate roof, featuring modern ridge tiles and a brick stack. It has four modern casement windows and a modern wooden door with a porch. One gable elevation is plastered and is rumoured to conceal timber framing related to the original cruck construction. The interior has not been inspected. The roof pitch and the height of the side walls indicate an early building form.
