Description
The remains of Newton Abbey are located on a moated site and date back to the medieval period. The site is currently inaccessible on foot due to being surrounded by the water of Newton Ings. A telescopic inspection from Newton Lane shows only a pile of 7 or 8 courses of dressed masonry at the south-west corner of the island, with the rest of the site overgrown with shrubs.
