Description
The gate and steps at the south-east corner of the sunken garden to the west of Ledston Hall date from the 18th century. They are made of wrought iron and stone and connect the south end of the west terrace to the sunken garden. The double gates feature stick balusters, dog-bars, and scrolled cresting, along with scrolled open-work standards and flamboyantly scrolled and spiked supporters. Inside the garden, there is a flight of nine steps with roll-moulded treads that curve outwards as they descend.
