Description
No. 58 Vicar Lane is a shop and office building dated 1900, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick, featuring stone and terracotta details, and has a slate roof. The building stands four storeys tall with an attic and consists of two bays. The ground floor has a late 20th-century shop facade. The first floor showcases wooden-framed windows with triangular pediments, while the second and third floors feature three-light sash windows. Below the third-floor windows, there is a terracotta panel with interlaced letters '?SI' and '1900' in an elaborate scrolled pattern. The facade is adorned with pilasters, a triangular pediment with small windows, and a moulded parapet topped with pointed finials. The interior has not been inspected. In 1910, the building was occupied by Geo Braithwaite, a boot dealer, as noted in Kelly's Directory of Leeds for that year.
