Description

Cliff House, now a school, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar with a low-pitched slate roof, a wide moulded cornice, and wide corner pilasters. The building is two storeys high and has a 2:1:2 window arrangement, with the central section slightly projecting. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within moulded stone architraves, and the central window has its own cornice. A string course runs along the floor level. The left-hand return features a single-storey semicircular bay window. The right-hand return includes a stone porch and a single-storey modern brick extension. The building is characterised by stone chimney stacks, each featuring round-arch panels and cornices. The interior has not been inspected.
