Description
The Skyrack Public House is an early 19th-century public house located on Otley Road in Headingley, Leeds. It is constructed of coursed gritstone rubble with ashlar quoins and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of three bays, with a fourth bay that is slightly set back on the left side. The quoins are a notable architectural detail. The central entrance has a panelled door with a rectangular overlight in a plain surround, and the windows throughout are 4-pane sashes set in stone surrounds. There are banded end stacks. The interior was replanned and refitted in the late 20th century. The name "Skyrack" is derived from a corruption of "Shire Oak," referring to a tree that stood nearby until around 1940.
