Description
The wall and gate piers to the Church of St Michael were likely built around 1885. They are constructed from coursed squared rock-faced gritstone with chamfered ashlar coping. The wall runs approximately 180 meters in length, enclosing the northwest, northeast, and southeast sides of the graveyard on sloping ground. It is composed of three or four courses high and steps down along Bainbrigge Road. The gate piers located to the northeast of the church are square and designed in the Gothic Revival style, standing about 2 meters high. They feature pilasters and pyramid capstones with cusped gablets, although the gateway itself is blocked. This structure is included for its group value.
