Description
The Hollies is a house located on Headingley Lane in Leeds, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed stone with a slate roof and features two storeys with three first-floor windows. The front has a panelled door set in a plain surround, and wide sash windows with glazing bars framed by plain painted stone architraves.
There is an added wing to the right, which is now a separate property known as No. 5 Bainbrigge Road. This wing is also made of coursed stone and has a slate roof, two storeys, and three windows with 16-pane sashes in plain stone architraves. The right side of the building has a Victorian glazed porch and a modillion eaves cornice. At the rear, the added wing projects and is semicircular in plan, featuring a sash window on each floor.
The interior has not been inspected. The Hollies is one of the few remaining houses from the old village of Headingley and may have originally been a farmhouse or connected to the church.
