Description
64 and 66 John William Street is a mid-19th century building constructed of ashlar with a pitched slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and features a modillion eaves cornice and a blocking course. The building has four bays, with the southern bay set back slightly. This bay includes two ranges of sash windows, with round-arched windows on the first floor that have fielded panels above, and an intermediate pier on the second floor. There are two doors, with the southern door being round-arched. The three northern window ranges are symmetrical, featuring moulded frames on the second floor with fielded panels between them. The first-floor windows also have moulded frames with cornices, and the central window has a Wilton surround and triangular pediment. The ground floor features canted bays with moulded plinths, cornices, and parapets. A round-arched door with moulded imposts, voussoirs, and a keystone is framed by Ionic half-columns and a full entablature.
