Description

This is a row of 25 terraced houses, numbers 1 to 25, on Wentworth Street, built in the middle of the 19th century. The houses are constructed of ashlar stone, with pitched slate roofs. They are two storeys high and feature a moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course along the top of the facades. Number 15 has a decorative band. The windows are sashes, arranged in pairs. Windows on the first floor, and the ground floor windows of numbers 9 and 11, have moulded surrounds. Each house has a single door. Those at numbers 3, 11, and 17 have four moulded panels, supported by Tuscan pilasters and topped with a full entablature and blocking course. Numbers 9 and 11 have passage entrances, each with a blind fanlight and hollow chamfers. Number 25 has a blocked passage entrance, which retains moulded imposts and voussoirs.
