Description

This is a row of fifteen terrace houses located on the west side of Brunswick Street, with number 1 extending onto London Road. The houses date from the early 19th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. They are constructed with limestone ashlar facades, while the rear is built of rubble stone. The roofs are slate, with one roof being hipped at the corner of number 2, and moulded brick stacks present on the left gable end and some party walls.

The houses are double-depth and include rear wings. Each house has two storeys and a basement. Numbers 1 through 15 are generally single-window fronts, except for number 1, which has a symmetrical two-window facade. They feature coped parapets and cornices. Number 1 has a semicircular arch with a keystone extending to the platband above a plain fanlight, and a six-panel door flanked by wide, late 19th-century plate glass sashes. Number 2 features a blind window to the ground floor on the left. Houses numbers 3 through 15 step steeply uphill, maintaining a similar design with single window ranges and doors to the right, along with moulded stacks to the left party walls. Originally, the windows had six/six panes, though some now have three/three panes with vertical glazing bars, and some have been fitted with balconettes. The interiors have not been inspected.
