Description

Two shops, built before 1830 on Piccadilly. The buildings are constructed from painted limestone ashlar, with rubble stone to the left return, and have a roof in a good state of repair, although the roof itself is not visible. The buildings have a double-depth plan. The exterior is three storeys, with a two-window frontage on each floor. Upper floors feature paired sash windows. Reeded pilasters support cornices and decorative friezes to the shop fronts, which have half-glazed four-panel doors leading to the shops and separate entrances to the upper floors on the right. Number 1, on the left, has a mid-19th or late-19th century six-pane shop window. Number 2 has a mid-19th century plate glass shop window. The interiors were not inspected. These buildings contribute group value to the area.
