Description
The former water-powered corn mill at Manor Mill Farm, dating from around 1832, is now used for storage. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof with gable copings and stone brackets for the gutter. The building has two storeys at the front and three storeys at the rear due to the sloping ground. There are six bays of casement windows on the front and five bays on the rear, along with a one-bay wide outshut on the left that contains the stone-lined wheel pit. This wheel pit spans the entire width of the building and is approximately 25 to 30 feet deep, accommodating a completely enclosed wheel that measures 51 feet in diameter. There is a loading door for the upper two floors on the other gable, but no machinery remains.
