Description

This building is a group of late 19th-century shops and offices constructed from ashlar stone. It is three storeys high and features a modillion eaves cornice. An elaborate balustrade runs along the roofline, with vase-shaped balusters and piers topped by pediments. The third bay from the south has an ornamental panel with a swag in relief, surmounted by a full entablature with a pulvinated frieze, a pediment, and two ball finials. The north elevation is finished with a gable end featuring relief ornament of a Hiberno-British character. The ground floor now has modern shopfronts. A giant pilastrade extends across the first and second floors. The west elevation contains fifteen ranges of sash windows with moulded surrounds; the north elevation has three. First-floor windows are distinguished by pulvinated friezes and pediments, while those on the second floor have fluted keystones.
