Description

13 New Street is an early to mid 19th-century building, with the ground floor likely dating from the early 20th century. It is constructed of ashlar and stands three storeys tall. The building features a moulded eaves cornice with an entablature and a continuous moulded sill that runs along the first and second floors. The ground floor is distinguished by a colonnade of fluted Greek Doric columns that support a full entablature. The cornice displays a Vitruvian scroll design, which is interrupted by lions' heads that probably date back to the original design. There is a curved corner bay that is slightly recessed. The south front has seven ranges of sash windows, while the west front has three.
