This is a milestone located on the south side of Huddersfield Road in Meltham. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is a round-headed stone post. The milestone is inscribed with the distances: "TO HUDDERSFIELD 4 MILES" and "TO MELTHAM 1 MILE".
