Description

This building, located at a right angle to and adjacent to No 45, is a former dwelling that is currently unused. It dates from the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the early 19th century. The structure is made of deeply coursed millstone grit and features a stone slate roof with chamfered gable copings, which were once topped with apex finials.

The building is two storeys high. On the south-east gable, there is one central three-light stone mullioned window on each floor, with the upper window having a hood mould. The north-west gable has a ground floor four-light stone mullioned window that is chamfered and recessed, while the first floor features a 19th-century four-light stone mullioned window, with an additional two lights blocked to the right. The hood mould above this window is truncated partway across the fourth light.

On the south-west elevation, there is a low-level two-light chamfered and recessed stone mullioned window. The building also has an external stack with quoins and raking offsets. Inside, there is a later fireplace, but the original triangular head remains, and the upper part of the stack is made of early brickwork. The interior features king-post trusses.
