Description

Hill Top House is a large, detached house likely dating from the early 19th century, with a slightly later addition to the left that is in keeping with the original style. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with rusticated ashlar quoins. The roofs are hipped and covered with stone slate, featuring a moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course on the later addition. The original part of the house has a symmetrical three-bay facade. The central doorway is distinguished by a semi-circular fanlight with radial glazing bars. Large sash windows with glazing bars are a consistent feature. The two-bay addition to the left projects forward and also features sash windows with glazing bars. A six-panel door, accompanied by a semi-circular fanlight with radial glazing bars, is also present. The three-bay side elevation is pointed.
