Description
Gomersal Public Hall is a public hall built around 1860. It features ashlar stonework with rusticated quoins and a rusticated ground floor, topped by a hipped slate roof. The building is two storeys high with a symmetrical facade that has five bays. It has a deep eaves cornice adorned with carved brackets depicting lion-like heads, with decorative panels in between. The central porch is heavily detailed, featuring a round arched doorway supported by massive carved consoles and an extended moulded keystone. Above the porch, a heavy cornice supports a balcony with turned balusters at the front. On either side of the porch, there are flat arched sash windows with architraves and raised keys. The first floor has large sash windows with architraves and segmental pediments on elaborately carved console brackets. Below the first floor windows, there is a blind balustrade with turned balusters.
