Description

This is a row of five early 19th-century dwellings, now Nos. 8, 10, 12, and 14, Sike Lane. The buildings are constructed of hammer-dressed stone with quoins and have a stone slate roof punctuated by four ashlar stacks. The row is three storeys high. Originally, Nos. 8 and 10 each had a single four-light stone mullioned window on each floor, with a ground floor entrance. The ground floor of these properties has been altered and now includes a modern bow window. A central stone porch has been added to No. 8. The original stone mullions have been removed from the upper floors. No. 12 was formerly two houses, although this feature is no longer readily apparent. It has two two-light windows to the ground floor and two three-light windows to the first and second floors.
