Description

This is a painted stone mile post with a rounded top, dating from the early 19th century. It is inscribed with the distance of 6 miles to Huddersfield and 7 miles to Woodhead, although the inscription is very badly eroded. The mile post is located opposite No. 119 on Huddersfield Road in Holmfirth.
