Description
Kings Mill is a late 18th century or early 19th century building located on Kings Mill Lane. It features a pitched stone slate roof and stands four storeys tall. The building has stone brackets supporting the gutter and coped gable ends. There are twelve ranges of windows, many of which still have their original glazing bars. In the center of the south side, there is a staircase projection with loading doors. The westernmost range of windows on the south side has a pediment-shaped coped gable above it, and there are blocked loading doors in this range, indicating that the current staircase block is an addition. This mill was part of the Manor of Almondbury and is one of the earliest mills in Huddersfield.
