Description

Calder and Hebble Navigation Lock Number 1 is located on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and was built between 1793 and 1798. The lock features hammer-dressed stone walls and wooden lock gates. There is an overflow culvert on the north side and a cutwater at the west end. Steps are present at the east end.
