Description

9 Chapel Lane is a small detached house dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, with significant restoration carried out in the 1970s. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and has a stone slate roof from the 20th century. It stands two storeys tall and features a near-central Tudor-arched doorway that has been restored. To the left of the doorway is a four-light window, and to the right is a three-light window, both of which are double-chamfered. A continuous drip mould, which has also been restored, rises as a hood mould over the doorway. On the first floor, there is a four-light window to the left and a three-light window to the right, both chamfered. The surrounds of all the windows are rendered, and many of the mullions have been replaced. The gable copings are chamfered but are concrete replacements on moulded kneelers. There is a 20th-century porch at the rear and some double-chamfered windows. The left side of the house features a projecting chimney breast with a rotten stack and a small chamfered fire-window on the first floor to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
